“The Last Tech Priest” by Devin Hurd

Devin Hurd is an Undergraduate Student and prospective Engineer at the University of Michigan. Over the course of his artistic journey he has explored various different media and styles for his artworks in the effort to grow his artistic capabilities as well as do justice to the topics which he is exploring. Working with themes such as socio-economic class division, dangers of political radicalism, and media presentation of femininity. Throughout his artistic journey he has worked with such topics throughout his experiences with the International Baccalaureate Program. Taking a keen interest in representing such topics through the lens of fantasy worlds and stories to provide greater introspection on such topics.

The Last Tech Priest is an independent piece that draws a large amount of inspiration from the fantasy series Warhammer 40k which has been a key element of inspiration in developing a large dungeons and dragons world named The Song of Salvation. The piece itself represents a robotic warforged character named "Mechos Clarn" a mechanical vagabond who wonders the northern icy tundras of the world in search of his lost brethren a part of his religious order.
