“Elsa” by Danielle Kiminyo

Danielle Kiminyo is a student at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art and Design. She is a rising junior with leadership and problem-solving skills, aiming to pursue a photography career.

Artist’s Statement: “This photo was taken for my Intro to Photography class. The concept for this photo was to recreate artwork in the style of another artist. My artist was Terence Donovan who mainly focused on fashion photography and portraits. The photo that I was really inspired by was of Naomi Campbell. This was my favorite assignment because I got to recreate the piece in my style in Black and white. I chose the prop, the hat and posed the model how I wanted. It was very special to me because I possibly want to pursue a career in fashion photography.”
