“Literacy of Line” by Laila Burke-Graves

“In my piece, ‘Literacy of Line’, I aimed to showcase how a simple technique like a line can evoke complex moods and atmospheres. I believe returning to the fundamentals of art allows us to fully explore the potential that can be unlocked through technique”

Laila Burke-Graves is a third-year Art & Design and Japanese major aspiring to create artwork that moves the emotions of her audience through her artwork. She intends to one day create visual stories that critique and emphasize the experiences of humans that are often overlooked.
