“Come Back” by Hanan Husein

Hanan Husein is a first-gen Iraqi student from Dearborn Heights, Michigan. At the intersection of conflicting identities, their artwork reflects themes of cultural dissonance and pioneering adolescence in the university jungle. This piece, titled Come Back, illustrates a longing for the bliss of a past emancipated from the pressure of a complicated existence.
