“A Day at Daycare” by Kaitlyn Marria

Note from the Author: This piece was created in conjunction with my senior year AP Drawing portfolio, with the theme of nostalgia. It depicts a colored pencil drawing of my younger self at daycare. The main goals for this piece were to put an emphasis on primary colors, pencil texture, and sentimental/relatable objects to convey this nostalgic emotion to the viewer.

Kaitlyn Marria is a freshman in LSA majoring in Creative Writing. She is a part of the Arts & Literary Journal club, and enjoys writing, art, thrifting, and hanging out with friends in her free time. She loves being a part of LSWA because it is such a fun and relaxed environment where people with a love of writing and the arts can share a space and create together.
