Danielle Park is a rising sophomore from New Jersey who loves cats, avocado toast, and watching films together with her friends. Her mother is an oil/acrylic painter as well as an art teacher and has taught Danielle much of her painting skills growing up, surrounding her with brushes, paintings, and portfolios in all rooms of their home. Additionally inspired by her uncle, a photography professor, and her grandmother, who studied pottery in college and speaks greatly about music, Danielle plans to continue her artistic family line and pursue design.
Artist’s Statement: “Tsundere” is a Japanese word used to describe someone that initially seems unapproachable but is actually a warm person inside. I wanted to represent how people with this type of personality often have such fronts because they want to protect themselves, whether because of a difficult past or insecurities. A tsundere person may act tough to ward off others, just like the nails that cover the outside of the bag, but once they open up, a softer person is revealed, like the feathers that line the bag’s inside.”
