“Honey, have you seen my Sweater?” by Daniela Castillo

Honey, have you seen my sweater?

its mine

the man calling my bar doesnt know

thank god it was me who answered the phone

no cameras saw me take it from his chair anyway i doubt they wouldve seen im so detached from that moment but it was me

hid it in my bag

brought it home

put it on and felt weird

but no matter how hard i tried i couldnt wash away the man who had worn it and all the things he could be

two-faced sexist xenophobic homophobic alcoholic (this one doesnt bother me so much) liar thief

the next person who wears that sweater wont know either

youre gonna find it on a hanger and see this gray fleece piece of trash worn by a liar and a thief
