“perceptions” by Emma Laible

i want you to kill the version of me in your head,
the one you think of at night in bed,
watch her suffocate and choke,
because she is me but broke.

i cannot stand the idea of others’ perceptions of me,
if im locked in someone’s head, how can i ever be free?
so please kill this girl i can’t see,
because i have no control over her
and neither does she
